Ideally,
an appropriate degree or similar qualification and whose studies will have
included Thermodynamics. Have managerial level experience in the maintenance
of power plant, gained from the Marine, Power Industry or an industry where
the process used steam generated in water tube boilers to drive turbines.
Ability to manage a team and motivate them to deliver service above the
minimum. Experience
of designing, costing and managing
implementation of large process engineering improvements.
In depth technical and operational experience to oversee effective
maintenance and commissioning plans implemented.
Demonstrable experience of drafting accurate budgets and delivering
actual costs in line with them and analyzing, reporting and addressing
variances. Successful experience of negotiating with suppliers of services
for on time and to cost delivery. Experience
of handling structural and cultural change in a unionised environment. Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, guidance and
systems, and other relevant Regulations, specific to the application and
technology being managed. A commitment to undertake training as deemed
necessary to improve and update knowledge and skills. The activities of the post at times requires reasonable physical
fitness and the person must be prepared to get up physically close to a
problem to fully understand the cause and the remedy of solving the problem.

 IVC & AD PROCESS DESIGN ENGINEER - North West - to 30k
Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineer – preferably Chartered status
or equivalent with Corporate Membership of the relevant UK engineering
institution. Qualified to degree level standard at a UK university (or
equivalent) fully meeting corporate membership requirements of the relevant
UK engineering institution. Fully IT literate with standard office software
including Auto CAD and MS Project.
At
least 5 years experience within the processing, power or waste industries,
including engineering support and project design / implementation. This
experience may have been gathered either with operating companies, with EPC
engineering contractors or construction companies.
A broad based
technical background is required in order to develop, control and organise
the design, procurement and commissioning of projects which require input
from a variety of engineering disciplines.
The ability to work under pressure and generate cost effective
designs is vital. A working
knowledge of effective project engineering, procurement and management
procedures is fundamental to the role.

HEAD

Chemical
Engineer – Chartered Engineer and Corporate Member of the IChemE.
Qualified to degree
level
standard at a UK university (or equivalent) fully meeting corporate
membership requirements of the IChemE. Fully IT literate with standard
office software including MS Project. Auto CAD will be an
advantage.
At
least 12 years experience within the processing or waste industries,
including operations / engineering support and project design and
implementation with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
This experience may have been gathered either with operating
companies or with EPC/other engineering contractors.
A significant capability for multidiscipline engineering design must
be demonstrated from hands-on to day by day control of design teams, both
internal and where provided by external consultants and designers.
A
broad based technical background is required as a significant innovative
input will be required to solve design problems as they arise and ensure the
design work incorporates high quality solutions for best value, operating
and maintenance effectiveness.
A
working knowledge of effective project engineering, procurement and
management procedures is fundamental to the role. The implications of
current Waste legislation, Health & Safety Regulations, e.g. CDM, Animal
Byproduct Regulations and Hazardous Area Classifications together with
relevant UK Codes of Practice and EC Directives must be fully appreciated.
